Suffering from Radiation Poisoning?

Radiation Poisoning Attorney in Atlanta

What is radiation poisoning?

Radiation poisoning comes from overexposure to various types of radiation. This is a known consequence for veterans who served:

  • In the occupation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan from August 6, 1945 through July 1, 1946
  • As a prisoner of war in Japan during WWII
  • In nuclear weapons testing in Nevada and the Pacific Ocean between 1945 and 1962
  • In underground nuclear weapons testing in Alaska before January 1, 1974
  • In nuclear weapons testing at one of the gaseous diffusion plants for at least 250 days before Feb 1, 1992: Paducah, Kentucky; Portsmouth, Ohio; or K25 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Radiation poisoning results from warfare with nuclear weapons, but also from improper handling of radiation or exposure. It is believed that it can occur from being close to testing facilities for extended periods of time or in areas where testing had been done and nuclear waste remained. If you think you have suffered from radiation poisoning, please contact an Atlanta veterans disability attorney at our office for help in applying for veterans disability.

If you are exposed and begin to vomit within one hour, this indicates a massive dose and you should seek immediate medical care. The skin exposed can burn. Hair loss, mouth sores, headaches, weakness, and fatigue are all signs of radiation poisoning.
